The Marina Beach

The longest beach in India is the Marina Beach. This humongous beach extends all the way form Basant Nagar till the historic Fort St. George. There is also an old light house that is situated at the southern end of the beach. There are also a vast number of recreational activities that take place on this beach.

Sri Parthasarathy Temple

The oldest temple in the city is the temple that is dedicated to Lord Krishna (Parthasarathy Temple). The coloured gopuras makes this temple look lit, and the other shrines inside the temple grounds should not be missed. The timings for this temple is from 4 AM in the morning to 11:30 PM at night. There is no entry fee, and photography is allowed.

The Kapaleeshwar Temple

The unique architecture of the temple draws more attention from tourists than from the religious point of view. The gopuram is almost 37 metres high. It is a perfect example of the Dravidian Style of the architecture used to construct temples. The main details of the temple are the Karpagambal deity and lord Shiva. The temple hosts massive festivals in the months of March and April. The temple is open between 5:30 AM and 12:00 PM. It opens again at 5 PM and shuts down at 9 PM.

San Thome Church

This church is important to the Christian community of the city. Its sparkling white structure draws a huge number of tourists every single day. There is also a library, a museum, and books kept for sale at the church premises. The timings of this church are from 6 AM to 8 PM.

Fort St. George

This tourist place is certainly a major delight for the history buffs. This building goes back to the British era and hosts historic monuments such as the St. George Museum and the St. Mary’s Church. There are also a lot of coins, artefacts, and items of great importance of the older generations. The timings are from 9 AM to 5 PM on every day except on Fridays.

Guindy National Park and the Snake Park

There are a lot of birds and animals situated in this park. This park could be great for kids and animal lovers. There are also exotic species of snakes present here. You could spend your evenings here and take a lot of pictures. The timings of this national park are from 9 AM to 5:30 PM.
